Impact

Your generosity changes lives.

It’s only with your partnership that we can continue to deliver our special brand of high‑quality care.

Thanks to your financial contributions last year, we were able to offer a wide array of comprehensive care services. Your support allowed us to provide leading-edge diagnostic, treatment and supportive services to patients battling cancer. It enabled us to build out our future-ready infrastructure and remain at the forefront of surgical care. It also helped us continue to fight COVID-19 — and care for patients experiencing complications from the virus. These are just a few of the ways friends like you have made a real impact.

Vulnerable community members rely on us for care and healing — and your gifts allow us to provide just that, right here in Pasadena.

Your Generosity Makes a Difference

Cancer Care

YOU HELPED US

Fight cancer

Our renowned Huntington Cancer Center, an affiliate of Cedars-Sinai Cancer, delivers exceptional cancer care, close to home. With investments from friends like you, we continued to provide comprehensive services for community members with cancer in 2022. This includes leading-edge treatment options and a comprehensive support program, including specialized nurse navigators who work with patients every step of the way.

Recently, we expanded our trusted cancer program to deliver the highest level of personalized care. In fact, we now have more dedicated cancer specialists to care for patients, who deliver the compassionate, whole-person support that Huntington is known for. We have also expanded our cancer services to include a new on-site infusion center.

Gina Imbrenda especially knows the value of our holistic cancer care program. After discovering a lump on her breast during a self-examination, she was diagnosed with stage 3 breast cancer. Thanks to the comprehensive care she received at Huntington Cancer Center, Gina is now celebrating seven years of being cancer-free.

Long Covid Care

YOU HELPED US

Care for long COVID-19 patients

Donor support allowed us to care for 65 patients through our Long COVID Recovery Clinic (LCRC) in 2022. These patients have long COVID-19 — a term that is commonly used to describe signs and symptoms that continue or develop after an acute infection of COVID-19. Your kind-hearted philanthropic gifts have helped us continue to operate this dedicated clinic last year, so that we could help patients like Mark Nestlehutt.

In June 2020, Mark spent three weeks battling COVID-19 at Huntington Hospital, but his symptoms only continued when he returned home. After coming to our LCRC, he finally began to improve. Though his recovery continues to this day, Mark is doing his best to return to normalcy. He and his wife, Stacey, recently welcomed their third child, Joseph Shriner Nestlehutt, into the world, who was named in honor of Kimberly Shriner, MD, FACP, medical director of infection, prevention and control, and LCRC physician, Joseph Dellinger, MD.

Surgical Care

YOU HELPED US

Provide superior surgical care

Your philanthropic giving enables us to perform surgeries in the areas of neurology, trauma, orthopedic and other complex specialties. With your help, we performed more than 10,500 surgeries in 2022 — an even greater number than the prior year.

Thanks to the extraordinary support of community philanthropists, we also recently completed a construction project to build seven brand-new surgical suites and renovate our eight existing surgery suites. All suites are intentionally designed to provide leading-edge treatment and fully equipped with state-of-the-art technology, including the latest-generation robotic surgery equipment and advanced imaging capabilities. These enhancements are making a significant difference to how our dedicated team of surgeons and nurses work — and are already having a meaningful impact on the lives of our patients. To further enhance our surgical infrastructure, we have plans to update additional surgical facilities in the near future.
