YOU HELPED US
Care for long COVID-19 patients
Donor support allowed us to care for 65 patients through our Long COVID Recovery Clinic (LCRC) in 2022. These patients have long COVID-19 — a term that is commonly used to describe signs and symptoms that continue or develop after an acute infection of COVID-19. Your kind-hearted philanthropic gifts have helped us continue to operate this dedicated clinic last year, so that we could help patients like Mark Nestlehutt.
In June 2020, Mark spent three weeks battling COVID-19 at Huntington Hospital, but his symptoms only continued when he returned home. After coming to our LCRC, he finally began to improve. Though his recovery continues to this day, Mark is doing his best to return to normalcy. He and his wife, Stacey, recently welcomed their third child, Joseph Shriner Nestlehutt, into the world, who was named in honor of Kimberly Shriner, MD, FACP, medical director of infection, prevention and control, and LCRC physician, Joseph Dellinger, MD.
